As stated on the forum, our provider currently stopped hosting. The story is as follows: - The server is in a server room, that our provider rented from another provider - The renting contract ended, so the other provider cut off net (or power, dunno) - TNS is back to vietnam, so he cant pick it up - => KyK (seems like he is the new admin now, since only he has access to the machine because he works at the provider and is responsible for the hosting, from what i know) has to pick it up, bring it to another working server room and connect it to the net again, and tell us the new IP. No idea when (and if ever) he will do it. We can just hope for the best now.
In the meantime Stormrage and I are setting up a temp server (which this website run on, currently). Currently setting up the system, installing MaNGOS, etc.
If the community decides they want a tempserver, we will open it for the public, with a database backup from tuesday, 1.5 days before the server went down.
A discussion can be found on the forum, WoW Chat section, and a poll in the polls section.

To all those who have sent me a PM and still didnt get an answer: I was away for 2 weeks, and you cant imagine how many PMs i got during that time... So justt hat you know, i havent forgotten about you, just probably didnt read your PM yet. Be patient please, you will get an answer really soon :)
About dualspec: This is not an official fix! I havent tested it much, but from what i can say it works. However, i CAN NOT guarantee it is bug free, and should the MaNGOS devs decide to fix this another way it may become necessary to change the way dualspec is handled, which means: - Another global talent reset - 1000g lost for everyone who purchased it - Other quirks and fuckups i dont even want to think about This is probably the WORST CASE. Nobody knows what will really happen. Up to you if you spend the 1000g or not. Don't say you haven't been warned.
About vehicles support: I was unable to test it because of the very old database on my testserver. Good luck finding out what works and what not. :) Don't expect too much!

A few other things:
Thx to Limitless for providing data for 28 Elixirs for Elixir Master (Outland & Northrend ones), Elixir masters now have a chance of creating additional Elixirs for these.
I have been asked countless times when we will upgrade to 3.2 - here is the answer: I cant tell. MaNGOS has a 3.2 branch and its working, but its not yet supported and not really stable. When i know more and can give a rought upgrade date, i will let you know. Dont ask for it, please.
I also finished my boss script that will be spawned very soon. ;)

As already announced on the newsticker there were some changes to the rules, there were no major changes, but we added sections about accounts and banning, to hopefully resolve things up that were unclear in the past.
Especially about banning, the rules change is treated retroactive, means if a permanent ban is not justified anymore acccording to the new rules, it *may* be removed on request.

The old accounts are back! Anyone who created a new account with the same name like the old account while the old one was unavailible, your old account can now be accessed with an appended -2. So it is like account-2 now. (Had to do this to solve name conflicts.)
I consider all account/character problems as fixed now. If there is still anything, contact me.
EDIT May 10th, 16:30: Made a mistake yesterday when updating the "-2"-accounts that prevented login although the correct password was given, fixed it just now.

Before you get me wrong: THE OLD DATABASE IS NOT YET ON THE SERVER!
But all prerequisites are finished, the server core runs on the latest version, the old database was patched up to fit the newest core, and the merge with the temporary database can be done anytime. So far so good.
Just 1 thing is still missing: The old accounts database. I have not yet gotten my hands on it, and with VERY bad luck i never will, so a backup or the one from the temp server has to be used instead. (That would mean last ~1.5 week\'s *accounts* lost in worst case (the chars are still there, however not linked to an existing account!). As soon as i have more info about the accounts db i will let you know.
And to clear up some rumors: If you cant connect to the world server that does NOT necessarily mean the merge is beeing done! If its about time you will see a big fat announcement on this site and on the forum.
EDIT: And as soon as the server wil be moved to the new provider, you will again see a big announcement. Database merge does not mean provider change at the same time :)

Reason for downtime: My homeserver\'s harddisk died. Now i got another one, and it works again. Dont worry, the temporary database has been saved and can be used.
The website already works again, now working on MaNGOS. Looks good for now, it should be up soon. Will post progress in the newsticker.
Infos about the \'real\' server: TNS said he would manage to bring it online on monday or tuesday. The original server with the real old database,not the temp one. Will post news as soon as i know more.

Decided to reinstall WinXP on the server to get rid of the bluescreens and database corruptions. Just gathering all necessarsy drivers, data and settings, and then the server will be offline for some time.
EDIT: Next weekend. I will not have enough time anymore to do it today. Damn.

After some trouble and a major startup crashbug it seems somewhat stable. Cant tell anything about everyday stability since i didnt test the core a lot.
Something important:
The world and account database used now is around 5 weeks old. If you have created an account after that time, and its gone now, PLEASE do not create an account with the same name like you took before. The account databases will be merged (so newly created accounts dont will not be lost), and i do not want to sort out all duplicates by hand.

Sorry that only 1 realm can be run; my server just cant take more with the 786 MB RAM it has. When we get to the new host, both realms will be up as they were before. Of course ou will be ableto choose where your char should be moved then.

Yes, i am currently preparing everything on my server to run MaNGOS for a few weeks until TNS managed to pick up his server machine and brought it to the new host.
The database used now contains none of the old characters. Dont worry, they are not gone. But in the time we cannot access the main database this one will be used, and after we got the main database we will allow to import characters from this database to the main.
You may also have noticed that the forum is down. Stormrage already talked to his webmaster, who assured it will be up again in a few hours. No need to worry that the forum may be gone now for days. :)
No idea how many people my server can hold - lets see. Will post here as soon as the server is up. I hope i get it done until midnight.
